BPS Ski & Snowboard Cup 2015

February 2015

The first BPS Ski & Snowboard Cup Championship took place on February 12th, 2015 on Vitosha Mountain.

Over 160 employees from the tenant companies in Business Park Sofia competed in the race at Vitoshko Lale Ski Run.

Thanks to Porsche BG’s support each participant wore Audi branded racing vest –just as those of the professional skiers and snowboarders in the World Cup. Our event partners from K-Express, Carlsberg, Pernod Ricard and Unilever took care of the refreshments, the comfort and high spirit of both participants and spectators.

All participants got commemorative gifts (polar collars and hats). The winners in the different disciplines, along with cups and medals were awarded the following great prizes:

The champions – a weekend for two in Bansko lift passes included. The second in rank –ski / snowboard goggles and backpack. For the third – a smart phone, provided by Telenor.

All participants showed high sport skill; there were dramatic outcomes as well. Their peak was the rivalry at Ski Ladies where the best three times were within the 93 hundredths and the winner Kristina Glushkova (Hewlett Packard), who started with a third time after the first round managed to overtake Dimitrina Tishinova (Concentrix) by only 12 hundredths. The bronze was for Bogdana Divitakova (Telenor) who showed great style and her performance was hugely applauded. A big well done to all of the three girls, whose times in the first round were enough to be ranked among the top 14 men!!!

Peter Yankov (Actavis) in Ski Men’s competition left no chance to his opponents in both of the runs and managed to make a total difference with the second of about 7 seconds. The second was Georgi Konstantinov (Hewlett Packard), and the third place was for Petko Choevski (IBM GDC) to his colleagues’ great delight, who had come to support him in the chilly February evening.

In the snowboarders competition almost all of the awards went to the address: 258, Ring Road, Kambanite BC, Hewlett Packard. The only exception was the charming Milena Delcheva (Telenor), who managed to take the silver among the ladies. The winner with 25 seconds ahead finished Desislava Nedyalkova (Hewlett Packard). Her colleague Yana Vanova (Hewlett Packard) was third.

At Snowboard Men, the HP hegemony was total and the medals went: gold – Sava Dzhendov (Hewlett Packard), silver – Orlin Vasilev and bronze – for Slavomir Andreev.

Out of the sports rivalry context, it was a real feast with smiles and cheer prevailing. I was there too and I enjoyed myself!
