Open-Air Cinema: “Glory” at The Rooftop
On 10 September at 8:00 PM, join us for open-air cinema in Sofia with the Bulgarian film “Glory” – a story about honesty, dignity and the clash between an ordinary man and a system where good intentions do not always lead to the expected outcome.
Railway worker Tsanko Petrov finds a large sum of money on the tracks and decides to hand it over to the police. His act of honesty quickly attracts public attention, and as a token of appreciation, he is presented with a new watch.
During the official ceremony, however, his old watch – an object of great sentimental value – goes missing. Tsanko’s attempts to get it back gradually draw him into a series of situations in which honesty and personal dignity collide with bureaucracy, public image and other people’s interests.
Blending drama with sharp social satire, “Glory” raises questions that stay with you long after the credits roll – what is the true price of honesty, what happens when an ordinary person becomes part of someone else’s PR story, and how far are we willing to go to protect our dignity?
The film is directed by Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov, with a cast including Stefan Denolyubov, Margita Gosheva, Kitodar Todorov, Milko Lazarov, Georgi Stamenov, Ivan Savov, Mira Iskarova, Hristofor Nedkov and others.
