Movie Night with “Triumph” at The Rooftop, Business Park Sofia
🎬 Movie Night with “Triumph” at The Rooftop
On 16 July, The Rooftop at Business Park Sofia invites you to a movie night with the Bulgarian film “Triumph”. In fact, it is one of the most talked-about local productions of the past year.
Directed by Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov, the film combines dark humour, absurdity and satire. The directors draw inspiration from one of the most mysterious events in Bulgaria’s recent past – the Tsarichina case.
The story takes place in the early 1990s, shortly after the political changes in Bulgaria. At the time, a secret group of high-ranking military officers launches a classified operation with the help of a clairvoyant. Together, they search for a mysterious artefact believed to have the power to change the course of history and bring “triumph” to the country.
Meanwhile, the line between reality, mysticism and absurdity begins to blur. As a result, the film offers both a funny and thought-provoking look at an unusual event from Bulgarian history.
The cast includes Maria Bakalova, Margita Gosheva, Julian Vergov, Julian Kostov, Stanislav Ganchev, Ivan Savov and Ivan Barnev.
Moreover, the Toronto International Film Festival included “Triumph” in its official programme. The film also represented Bulgaria in the Best International Feature Film category at the Academy Awards.
